Using ER-plusTM CORE develops the MEL, justifies criticality, maps risk using symmetry, assigns normal models, points other equipment tags (to normal models) as references and generates application PM tables. Using ER-plusTM, RCMtrimTM creates files that load CMMS/EAMS PM table work orders.

Every plant component in the MEL has risk. Equipment trains split production flows, providing standby backups, channel redundancy, or other benefit. Instrumentation warns of hidden failures. However, all mitigation strategies complicate designs.

CORE MEL equipment partition assigns risk and templates using owner-specified criteria. System train or skid symmetries, redundant channels, and random failures that directly place unit operations at risk influence operator condition monitoring and PM task selection.
